Hi, I’m Jack Conlon. I’m a first-year Sports Journalism student at the University of Gloucestershire.

I’m obsessed with sport, but my main passion is rugby league. Being a northern lad, I’ve been brought up on the sport, and have written pieces on it for a number of sites and publications. These include Rugby AM, Serious About Rugby League, Yorkshire Amateur League and, more recently, forty20 magazine.

I’ve had previous experience working for Leeds Rhinos, writing match reports to feature on the website as well as live blogging on the official Twitter account. I am also currently part of the University of Gloucestershire All Golds media team, often live blogging on Twitter or on commentary if the game is being live streamed on YouTube.

Away from rugby league, I am an avid Leeds United fan and like to give my own views and opinions on how the club are doing. My other sporting interests include Rugby Sevens, Rugby Union, Speedway, Golf and Formula One but I am always trying to broaden my horizons and enjoy learning about other sports.

My ultimate career ambition is to pursue a successful career in journalism, whether it be in print or broadcast. The buzz of covering live action or seeing your name in print is something that never gets old, so to have a career based around this would be a dream come true.
